Traditionally, semiconductor Ammonium Hydroxide (NH4OH) is produced off-site and delivered to chip makers in containers (isotainers, totes and drums); ultimately connected to the Fab’s chemical distribution networks.
Our generation system mitigates the various risks in the traditional process by:
- Eliminating the need for containers that have to be ordered and stored to keep up with usage
- Avoiding ever-increasing volume increases logistics costs
- Making on-site quantity limitations irrelevant
- Improving quality with better assay and purity (no contamination from containers)
- Increasing resiliency and not be subject to long lead time to order – approx. a year to add 1 new iso tanker
- Reducing cost by eliminating the need for expedited supply
- Using the Fab's own water instead of the high cost tied directly to the unit price of purchased NH4OH
- Dramatic reduction in shipping and material handling combined with lower energy requirements increase environmental sustainability of the operation
The same technology can be applied to produce 49%HF and 37% HCl if desired.

Chemical Offload
